Walnut and Mud

 


Andrew Driftwood has been slow dying, weaving and constructing beautiful clothes using walnut and mud to make delicate coloured threads, and weave them to make incredibly beautiful garments.

"Continuing the dialogue on perception and deception, originally inspired by the lies of Trump and the age of disinformation. This new coat is made through visual trickery. Its maze-like weave appears complex, yet it is in fact plain weave, the humblest weave in the world. Deception through colour manipulation. Things seeming to be one thing when they are really another, taking on a kind of incognito state, a kind of vague truth (or flat out lie).
