Erik Bergin is a costume designer, who moves into the realm of sculpture and folk art with his woven textiles.
"I sew for Broadway, create outfits for shows and concerts and show my sculptural costumes in art galleries. I create them myself because the costume is too personal a story to be entrusted to someone else. Usually, I focus on what I want to change in myself: this is how an understanding of my work arises. Different costumes have different meanings, but my philosophy is to study different perspectives on life. I believe that a work of art can be an expression of desire, and costumes are no exception."
