Pantovola I

"Mixed media sculpture telling the story of opposites. The poles that seem un-unitable, united in one dress, to be worn by one person. On the one side the story of the Apocalypse, or Book of Revelation, and on the other side “Song of Solomon” are hand sewn onto the Victorian dress. For this I used a sixteenth century book of the New Testament. A ‘wound’ of red beads surrounded by animal skin is sewn onto the Apocalypse sleeve, beehives, beeswax and bees are placed on the side of Solomon". Pantovola

Pantovola is a mixed media artist who has worked across many media including ceramics, paper maché, textiles and painting.  I adore her re-worked vintage dresses and the way she uses them to tell stories.

Lola Dupré

Lola Dupré stretches the truth of photography with her surreal distorted collages perfect for fashion editorials like the collaborative editorial with Laetitia Bica for Argentinian magazine DMAG., but also for deliciously wicked political caricature and satire.

Lola Dupré II

I love the fun that Lola Dupré has with her collages, but also the way that this medium enables you so quickly to explore different silhouettes, textures, colours etc perfect for developing fashion and costume designs.

Lola Dupré

So happy to have discovered the amazing work of illustrator Lola Dupré, they are making me laugh with joy and wonder at her imagination and the creativity and ideas these images spark. This is fashion illustration that reinvents fashion, turns everything on its head and upside down and makes you buzz with excitement.
