Andy Warhol II

Yesterday I was really lucky to have a days conference in the Dovecot Galley, Edinburgh, a total treat day. Currently there is an exhibition of Andy Warhol's screen printed textiles. I have blogged about these before six years ago after seeing an exhibition with some of his works in New Lanark. The exhibition at the Dovecot has more examples of the fabric designs and clothes and was a bright start to spring with it's joyful celebration of Andy's favourite things preserved in bright printed fabric designs of toffee apples and melon, acrobats and art supplies. The exhibition is running until the 18th of May if you can go and catch it.

Andy Warhol

Buttons, ice creams and watermelons, Andy Warhol (1928-1987) pulled inspiration from the daily joys of life and this is what makes his textile design sing. You can see many of his designs on display as part of the artists textiles exhibition, currently on display at New Lanark.
