Annelies Henny and Hannah Sullivan

The images above are from an embroidered costume created in collaboration between performance artist Hannah Sullivan and costume designer Annelies Henny for a performance called 'With Force and Noise'. Hannah has been researching and exploring the emotion 'anger' and has come to understand it as a combination of biological motivation and a socially complex entity.
Anger is an emotion that is bound up with our perceptions of madness and often dismissed but it is a powerful force, a strong often ugly part of  our humanity, too often neglected, behind more socially palatable emotions like fear and love.
Through working with ideas for the costume Hannah found herself suddenly in a world of craft.

Sylvia Palacios Whitman I

Sylvia Palacios Whitman was born in Chili in 1941 she studied painting and drawing  in Santiago school of Art.  Sylvia moved to New York in the early 1960's where gradually she moved away from drawing and painting into the domain of performance art using sculptural and visual stage props to make a visual theater.

Tomoko Kofuneko I

Tomoko Kofuneko is from Okayama Japan. She has always been interested in art but became interested in various ethnic traditions she attended The Kanazawa College of Art (majoring in oil painting), and began practicing African dance she traveled for many years she then entered the FMA painting program at The Kanazawa College of Art where she developed her body expression/ performance work.
