David Ferreira

I love the voluminous shapes, spaces and textures in the work of Portuguese designer David Ferreira a recent graduate from Westminster University.
David has had the benefit of a program at Westminster that allows the students to flow between the gendered disciplines of womanswear and menswear and between different textile specialisms like print and knit, enabling him to form new ideas and perspectives in his chosen specialism.
He has also had the experience of working for Iris Van Herpen, Giles Deacon and Meadham Kirchhoff gaining innovative working practice, techniques and craftsmanship.
One of David's ambitions has been to release women from their natural shape and silhouette creating new dynamic forms for them to inhabit.

Harry Pontefract

Deconstructed, reconstructed, asymmetric and exciting. This is the work of Westminster graduate Harry Pontefract from Sheffield, whose work I keep returning to and admiring.

Mary Benson

Mary Benson's theatrical, opulant and dramatic graduate collection. Mary graduated from Westminster in the summer, but was already as an undergraduate creating pieces for Paloma Faith, Rita Ora, and VV Brown. One feature that seems to recur in her work is the collage effect of different surfaces by using metallic, glitter and vinyl applique.

Flo Hughes

Flo Hughes has created a menagerie of a collection layering upon layering of textiles printed with an eclectic variety of designs, a patchwork in gypsy ruffles and textures.

Valeska Jasso Collado

Valeska Jasso Collado graduated from Westminster University this year with a collection in which she choose to combine unusual materials to create new textiles with which to form her structured garments.

 "I chose foam because it would make the voluminous but clean shapes I had in mind possible, It also meant I didn't have to build any kind of frame or stuffing which are more common methods to create volume for garments."
