Above is Nikoline-Liv-Andersen's amazing sculptural dress made from plastic drinking straws. The texture and visual interest of Nikoline's work is wonderful as is her determination to reinterpret a basic throw away item from modern life into a unique textile/dress form.

Josipa Stefanec

Josipa Stefanec works across the genre's of art, design, costume and fashion, constructing form from 

ribbons of fabric. 

These ribbons were spirally stitched using a bias-cut technique which is similar to that used for making 

straw-hats. It results in various sized protruding cone shapes that change the silhouette and create soft 

undulating forms that are  both visually stimulating and tactile.
