Liz Payne

Liz Payne is an Australian textile artist who combines bold coloured paint with stitch and bead textures.

"I get a lot of inspiration from historical influences, for example the beautiful textiles and beaded artefacts from countries such as Nigeria, Guatemala and Uzbekistan - where pieces were not only decorative and functional but also told a story of the many hours and hands that worked on it.

I'm also immensely inspired by contemporary influence and trends in fashion, culture, media and design. I think it's this blend of the old with the new that I find really appealing." Liz Payne 

Victoria Todorov I

Victoria Todorov's SS 2015 Limited edition 'The Blind Collector' SS 2015. Todorov is a Melbourne based company and this is the second collection from Victoria whose designs and style have had a cult following in the city for years. This collection has a hard geometry combined with a translucence and is very beautiful.

Catherine O'Leary

 I love these felt works by Australian artist Catherine O'Leary they remind me of fungi in particular a Bridal Veil Stinkhorn.

Often I find this with hand crafted felt garments they have a very organic look texture and shape. The layering of black and white in Catherine's garment is very startling and the broken net of a silhouette is stunning.

Amelia Agosta

Amelia Agosta’s work explores structural and sculptural distortion and manipulation of clothing surfaces and silhouette design. Amelia's designs convey a modern and avant garde aesthetic. Her designs incorporate knit, stretch, woven and contemporary non woven fabrics.

Tennille Sanders

This collection by Australian designer Tennille Sanders is beautifully understated and yet dramatic in its geometry. Tennille first studied science majoring in medical science in 2005 however having had a life long interest in fashion, she increasingly found that she wanted to pursue this interest into her professional life. 
Tennille enrolled at Whitehouse Institute of Design, Melbourne in 2011 and went on to win many awards. Tennille sights her scientific background as influencing the structure of her creativity.

Akira Isogawa is a Japanese born award winning Australian designer, who has achieved international recognition for his use of vivid and exciting colour and print. 

Akira has also designed costumes for many Sydney Dance Company productions.

John Parkes

John Parkes is an Australian artist who uses pre-used textiles and over works them with complex layers of stitching.
"Parkes’ works with second hand/recycled/found cloth is underpinned by notions of decomposition and temporality, the recognition that neither cloth nor user will last forever. Whether small fragments to affix talisman-like to clothing or larger pieces for the wall, his works reflect gentle processes of layering and stitching. India Flint
