"19 innocent children killed in time of peace. Some children had just made the honour roll. Two of the girls played basketball together on a team called the Spurs. One boy loved soccer and dancing with his brothers at home. The names of those slain by a gunman at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Tex. emerged in the days after, as the grief-stricken community tried to process what happened. Family and close friends shared a last message for the ones they loved so much. Messages that only mean a lot for who they’re written for. So I created kites to carry some of the messages way up high in the hope they would get close enough for the children to read them. Here’s a kite for Nevaeh Bravo 10, one for Layla Salazar 10 and one for Maranda Mathis 11." Pim Van Nunen
