Wemyss School of Needlecraft I

Today Wemyss School of Needlecraft was open as part of Doors open day and I took the opportunity to glimpse what this famous historical needlework school had to offer.
It is a complete treasure trove with an extensive and fascinating collection of samplers, textiles embroideries and historical fashion.
What is wonderful is that for the first time in decades students are being welcomed back into the school to study these traditional techniques such as goldwork, whitework and silk shading, using designs adapted from the extensive embroidery and textile collection.
