Alot of Marian Schoettles works in the last decade have featured charts or maps this is her Storm Structure cartography dress made from rayon challais with the storm lines mapped in a continuous stitched line.

Marian Schoettle II

Marian Schoettle established her professional name "mau" in Philadelphia in 1978. Marian's (Mau's) work is known as post industrial folk wear. She uses products that are normally industrial waste such as surplus hardwear and paint. Mau's most significant body of work to date is made from Tyvek a water resistant material used to make packaging for mail. It is a light durable material resistant to wind and rain and it looks beautiful as a fabric. Mau supplies limited edition art clothing and accessories to galleries, museums and boutiques. With her experimentation and inquisitive inventiveness Mau continues to push boundaries in art and fashion creating innovative and easy-to-wear garments that combining artisan pattern making and detailing with the high-tech fabric.

Dana Barnes

Amazingly inspiring textiles of epic proportions. This is the stunning interior textile work of Dana Barnes Studio braided and knotted raw and felted fibres made into wall and floor coverings.

Vanessa Schindler

Vanessa Schindler is a young fashion designer who was nominated for the Swiss Federal Design Awards this year. Her work is surprising she plays with structure and silhouette as well as the interplay of textures and feminine and masculine.

Faustine Steinmetz

The ordinary transformed into the amazing Faustine Steinmetz reinterprets the mass produced utilitarian iconic fashion items that everyone has in their wardrobes and hand crafts them. The fibres and elements of these pieces are all sourced and created in  England. Hand dyed, hand spun and hand woven.  Faustine Steinmetz studied pattern cutting and design in Paris, and assisted designers such as Henrik Vibskov, Jeremy Scott and Andrea Crews. She then completed her Masters in fashion at Central Saint Martins in 2012.

John Bock

John Brock is a Berlin based artist unconstrained by any artistic genre, he works between installation, sculpture, film and performance which means that he is often involved in body altering costume as comment on politics, fashion and music among other cultural references. It is surreal, challenging work but has an unrestrained freedom, humour, shape, form and colour.

Maiko Takeda

Images from Maiko Takeda's  'Atmospheric Reentry' Maiko's masters show in millinery at the Royal College of Art. Maiko has had her pieces worn by Bjork, and they are especially fantastic when highlighted by stage lighting.

Swati Kalsi

Swati Kalsi is a Textile and Fashion Designer who was born in Delhi.

Swati has worked with hand crafted textiles, for over a decade, bringing contemporary relevance to the time honoured hand crafted textiles of Indian artisans, and thereby supporting their craft and skills and continuing to increase demand  for their traditions and techniques. 

John Parkes

John Parkes is an Australian artist who uses pre-used textiles and over works them with complex layers of stitching.
"Parkes’ works with second hand/recycled/found cloth is underpinned by notions of decomposition and temporality, the recognition that neither cloth nor user will last forever. Whether small fragments to affix talisman-like to clothing or larger pieces for the wall, his works reflect gentle processes of layering and stitching. India Flint

Kamila Gawronska

Kamila Gawronska  trained in art and fashion photography before attending the International School of Costume and Fashion Design in Warsaw. Kamila's work has a wonderful drama the collection pictured is based on the movie entitled Metropolis directed by Fritz Lang in 1927.

Hiroko Takeda

Hiroko Takeda was brought up in Japan and trained there in the tradition of the Mingei Undou (Japanese Arts and Crafts Movement). She received an MA in Constructed Textiles from the Royal College of Art in London, and has received numerous design awards in Japan and Europe. Hiroko opened her design studio in New York in 2010, she works with both natural and synthetic materials and uses ancient and contemporary techniques.

Alexandra Verschueren

I love the clever modular, sculptural and architectural designs that are Alexandra Verschueren's signature since graduating in 2009 from the Royal Academy of Antwerp.

Alexandra won the  Grand Prix du Jury of the Hyères prize in 2010.

Bea Szenfeld SS2014 Haute Papier was revealed at Stockholm Fashion Week at the end of August. Bea has worked with Stella McCartney, Tommy Hilfiger, Björk and Swarovski and her work is full of fun, innovation and theatre it is exciting and inspiring.
