Holly Searle II

Number 132 in my Subverted Vintage Tea Towel Series - A Graveyard For Children (Peacefire Now)

"MP Zarah Sultana referred to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as ‘A graveyard for children.’ She said that so many children had been killed that it would take nearly 6 hours to read out all of their names and ages. That broke me. How did we get here? It becoming redundant to remember those who gave so much when children are being slaughtered. How do such evil men cause so much irreversible suffering and trauma? It can’t be mended, it’s just devastatingly inhumane. Please stop." Holly Searle

"It can't be 'mended' " sticks out for me from Holly's words and it can't the damage done on Oct 7th has now caused a rip in the world with a barbaric retaliation causing untold destruction and death. An eye for an eye . . .

Terry Lee Getz

A pebble poem, printed and bound by Terry Lee Getz

"A set of declarative sentences about poems was created and printed onto fabric by ink jet. A stuffed sphere was made and a variation of buttonhole stitch was worked in an intuitive, random method that did not guarantee the legibility of any printed words. In fact, the chance of showing complete words, much less phrases was pretty much nil . . . a 3D visual poem. " Terry Lee Getz
