Devastator

Founded by designers and artisans Erik Bosman and Arij den Otter, curate a Dutch label of unique pieces of tailor-made clothing from a selection of innovative designers. DEVASTATOR prefers to use excellent quality of old and leftover stock materials, making sturdy, clean and ample silhouettes. Each garment is perfectly cut, luxuriously and thoughtfully executed, with each of its own special detail, it is unique, slow tailor-made clothing.

Amy Revier

 Amy Revier is a weaver and maker of exquisite garments, soul clothes, clothing that is a work of art.

"Continuing the dialogue on perception and deception, originally inspired by the lies of Trump and the age of disinformation. This new coat is made through visual trickery. Its maze-like weave appears complex, yet it is in fact plain weave, the humblest weave in the world. Deception through colour manipulation. Things seeming to be one thing when they are really another, taking on a kind of incognito state, a kind of vague truth (or flat out lie). One of a kind piece, hand-felted after weaving to further blur the boundaries." Amy Revier

Smock

A farm labourer during his active working life, he was well-known for wearing a smock but he was also a Methodist preacher, a district councillor and was questioned by the Prince of Wales as part of the Royal Commission on old age pensions.

I have found an amazing site and book called Smock Frock, I adore smocking I think it is a memory thing for me of smoking on clothes I wore as a child, I really must master it at some point. Anyway here are some examples that Alison Toplis has collected and researched for her book, 'The Hidden History of the Smock Frock' 2021.
