Lesley Dill

Lesley Dill's Dada poetry wedding dress made for the Dada ball in New York, a paper dress of words for performance. The words and language a powerful catalyst on the vehicle of costume for emotional dialogues about,life and death. Lesley Dill is an American photographer, sculptor, artist, performer and costume maker who throughout all of her mediums and creative endeavours uses language;

"language is the touchstone , the pivot point of all my work."
"I wanted to talk about our era of Aids and also the theme of the Dada Ball by using the metaphor of a woman wearing a dress. The idea was inspired by Duchamp’s “The Bride Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, Even”. The dress is a brown paper dress painted white and stamped with the words of the Emily Dickinson poem, “The Soul Has Bandaged Moments”. I chose a virginal white dress as a reminder of the many women who are HIV positive, and as a symbol of the incredible loss of innocence that awareness of early morality has brought us."  Lesley Dill

Irina Dzhus established her label DZHUS in 2010 this is her AW 2015 'Totalitarium' collection inspired by industrial age architecture is a harsh, monochrome reaction to a harsh environment, but it beautifully reflects the geometry and cool modernism of the structures it is developed from, free from ornamation and frivolous unnecessary embellishment.
"Creating a collection's concept has always been the most exciting process for me. I'm inspired by trying my best to embody their characteristic features and principles of objects in the silhouettes of my designs." Irina Dzhus

Motoguo

 This is a surreal collection and campaign by Motoguo that reminds me of  Johnny Depp's Willy Wonka  in the 2005 version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
What I love about Motogue is the incredible engineered fabric details and the almost graphic design of feature components. Moto Guo is a young Malaysian designer who graduated from Raffles College of Higher Education in 2013 his work is new distinctive and highly original.

The top three images are from his 'Man' collection AW 2015 Though the colour palette is mostly dark Rory uses different fabrics to create a subtle richness. Rory has discussed before how he has been influenced by ecclesiastical layering and tiering of layers, this is a very strong feature of this collection.

Angel Chen I

Angel Chen's The Rite of Spring is a celebration of life, it has that wild exuberance of childhood, where there are no rules and either crayons have been scribbled all over the walls or while home baking the sprinkles, icing sugar etc have all been liberally applied to a cake in an act of unguarded glee.
Angel Chen has mixed translucent with opaque, heavy fabrics with voiles, block colours with patterns scribbles and polka dots. This first Ready to Wear collection SS2015 “The Rite of Spring” was launched at Shanghai Fashion week and was sponsored by well-known electronics brand Sony.
